Southern Style BBQ Competition
The “Southern Style” BBQ competition portion of this festival is a sanctioned BBQ competition in BC under the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association. Competing teams will travel to attend this sanctioned BBQ competition winning $4000 in prize money and acquiring points based on their results, which will earn them an entry in the World BBQ Championships in Kansas City.
Attendees to the festival will soak in the sights, smells, taste, texture and sounds of professional barbecue teams competing live in four main categories; Pork Shoulder, Ribs, Beef Brisket, and Chicken. These teams will also compete in an Iron Chef style challenge, cooking an ingredient that is only revealed to them at the start of the competition.
